Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Englewood United Methodist Church is to provide the facilities, the ministry and the program that will allow its members to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and learn to accept the unconditional love of God in their lives. It must focus on the individual spiritual and physical needs of all its members and the lives it touches. I so doing, through the spirit of love and Christ-like grace shown, we will reach out in such a way that others will be drawn into the faith. The ultimate goal of spreading the Kingdom of God will be met, One Soul at a time.

An Experienced Christianity… God can be immediately and intimately experienced in Jesus Christ. The Christian faith is more than just intellectual dogma. John Wesley and Francis Asbury described their most profound religious experiences in terms of assurances and warnings of the heart.

  • A Scriptural Christianity… The bible has been and continues to be the norm and standard in our beliefs, teachings and practices.
  • Practical Christianity… Faith must always find its experiences in love and concern for our neighbors. God’s grace must be expressed to others.
  • A Disciplined Christianity… John Wesley set the example of a disciplined life of Bible, prayer, exemplary life, service to fellow man and faithful worship.
  • A Connectional Christianity… As members of the Methodist Church we are knit together with others in mutual concern and responsibility.
  • A Ecumenical Christianity… Our members come from many different church backgrounds and from no background. We attempt to work cooperatively with other Christians.
  • A connectional church…

We are a connectional church, proud to be a part of the United Methodist Church, one of the largest groups of Christians in North America. The Methodist Church traces its spiritual heritage to the revivalisms of John Wesley and Frances Asbury. With over 40,000 churches, the United Methodist Church runs gamut of cultures, races and backgrounds. Englewood United Methodist Church, established over 100 years ago, is one of the oldest churches in Denver Area.
